Until 10 p.m., Popeye’s is open daily, except on Sunday. Popeyes closes its doors at 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.   There may be variations in the closing times of some franchise restaurants, so be sure to check with your local one. Some Popeye’s locations are closed on holidays. It is always a good idea to check their holiday schedule.

1972 was the founding year of Popeyes. In those days, it was known as “Chicken on the Run.” A few months later, the founder renamed it to Popeyes since business was not very good at the restaurant. New Orleans, Louisiana, was the first location to open a Popeyes. After being known for many years as Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. was launched in 2008.   Though business started slowly, Popeyes eventually became one of the world’s largest fast-food chains.

The company behind Popeye’s is Restaurant Brand International. Popeyes was acquired by Restaurant Brand International in 2017.

Typically, Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches cost $3.99. When the sandwich is included with a side, biscuit, and beverage, the price is closer to $8.00. Prices may vary depending on where you are.

Popeyes Chicken Sandwich debuted on August 12, 2019. The sandwich was sold out within two weeks of its launch and then until the end of November because of how popular it was. The way the restaurant sold out so quickly is still talked about today.

Three thousand and two hundred and two Popeyes restaurants exist. The chains are located in more than 40 states and 30 countries across the globe.

Copeland is the founder of Popeyes. He was also a successful restaurateur in addition to being an entrepreneur. However, Popeye’s wasn’t his first company. The business owner ran many successful businesses before opening a fast-food restaurant.

Al Copeland named Popeyes after a character named Jimmy Popeye on “The French Connection,” which was a popular detective show in the 70s. Popeye was his character’s name, so Popeyes came from him.
