El Pollo Loco Menú

El Pollo Loco is a fast-food restaurant specializing in fire-grilled chicken and Mexican-inspired foods such as burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. El Pollo Loco prices tend to be between Taco Bell and Chipotle Mexican Grill. Although El Pollo Loco today serves burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, they originally started primarily with just specially-marinated fire-grilled chicken.

In addition, they also offer various salads, bowls, family meals, and a dozen sides. In developing new menu items, El Pollo Loco strives for authenticity to stay true to its Mexican roots. So Garden and her team used the taco truck version as a starting point, but were tasked with figuring out how to scale it up to work at 481 locations.

However, the time element was a roadblock to cooking the beef from scratch at the limited-service chain. So El Pollo Loco partnered with a supplier that does the braising and delivers the cooked meat to each location. In the units’ kitchens, the beef is shredded and simmered some more to blend the flavours, said Garden.

Marketing to a mass audience

El Pollo Loco worked with a packaging supplier to design a box for the barrio items to use for both dine-in and to-go guests. The box is printed with colourful graphics and contains a special cup holder for the consommé.

The marketing team also created point-of-purchase materials to educate dine-in guests about barrio and displayed videos on digital boards.

About El Pollo Loco

The reasonable El Pollo Loco prices will not make you go crazy! The restaurant chain has established a reputation for offering good value for the money for its food and drinks, as well as its services and facilities.

Owned by El Pollo Loco, Inc., the chain specializes in grilled chicken prepared the Mexican way. Customers can choose from dine-in, take-out and drive-through services, as well as catering services, in most of its locations. The corporate headquarters, which oversees more than 400 restaurants, are in Costa Mesa, California.

The menu’s main attractions are the Mexican chicken dishes. According to the company, the chicken has been marinated in a citrus-based marinade before being fire-grilled to perfection. The resulting chicken is different in flavours from American-style grilled chicken, but it’s a familiar one for Teamed fans. The other items on the menu are burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas, which are also prepared the Mexican way with a touch of American style.
