During the week, Domino’s opens at 10 a.m. almost everywhere. In any case, you might want to check your local restaurant’s website or Google Maps for their operating hours. There are a few Domino’s restaurants that open later at 10:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.

Domino’s closes most locations at midnight. However, in some locations, their hours are extended to accommodate more customers. In 1960, Dominick’s pizza restaurant was purchased by the owners of Domino’s. Domino’s founders recognized the pizza place’s promise and paid a hefty $900 for the building – a worthy investment.

In Ypsilanti, Michigan, the first Domino’s opened. Domino’s has moved out of the building it started in; the building is now home to a gourmet burger joint called Got Burger. Taormina’s Pizza used to be housed in the building prior to that.

The company owns Dominoes. Tom Monaghan was the original owner of Dominoes until 1998, when he sold the majority of his stock to Bain Capital, giving up his involvement with the restaurant he had built from the ground up. Mitt Romney was working at Bain Capital when the sale was closed. However, Domino’s has been in massive debt since it was bought by Bain Capital in the first decade of its ownership.

Domino’s restaurants are spread throughout the world. There are more than 85 Domino’s locations throughout the world, with the highest concentration in the U.S., India, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Japan, Turkey, Canada, South Korea, France, and the Netherlands.

James Monaghan and Tom Monaghan founded Domino’s. Dominick DiVarti was the owner of the original Domino’s before they bought it, and the chain used to be called DomiNick’s. The Monaghan brothers changed the name of the restaurant after buying it out.
